War Hospital is a strategy game set during WWI. We play as a doctor managing a field hospital, treating patients and maintaining high morale among other medics.
War Hospital is a real-time strategy game with RPG elements, set during World War I. It's the debut game of Brave Lamb Studio, published by Movie Games.
War Hospital is set in 1917. The playable character is a retired doctor, Major Henry Well, returned to service during World War I. He's sent to the French front and tasked with leading a field hospital.
War Hospital revolves around saving wounded soldiers. The player commands a field hospital and decides how it's supposed to function. After itting a patient, we must read their health card and decide how to treat them. Each decision influences the final outcome. Over time, we can upgrade our equipment to increase the chances of successful treatment.
As the game progresses, the player gathers a community of rescuers and survivors, needing to look after their morale.
War Hospital only s singleplayer.

There’s another way to look at War Hospital which is as some sort of RPG/visual novel. I think this change would actually benefit the themes of the story. There are already existing characters in the story. They are where the game comes closest to realizing its vision. The randomly generated patients by comparison, all feel like unimportant NPCs. War Hospital is all about taking on a role, but you express yourself through tactical decisions. If I spent less time choosing the mortal fates of random named guys, maybe I could have spent more time learning to be Major Henry Wells.

War Hospital is ineffective when it comes to its story's relationship with death, while also failing to impress with its uneventful, buggy management sim gameplay.

As much as this engages as a sobering alternative to the likes of Two Point Hospital, a large chunk of it just sees you cycling through familiar motions. The rich atmosphere and worthy setting are compromised by a narrow vision.
