Developed by Ubisoft Reflections studio, an arcade adventure game with platformer elements, which is a continuation of Grow Home published in 2015. During gameplay you assume the role of a likeable, red robot named BUD. Gameplay consists of exploration of a huge world – a colorful 3D planet with flying islands surrounding it, which hide various kinds of surprises.
Developed by Ubisoft, Grow Up for PC, XONE and PS4 is an arcade adventure game with platformer elements, in which action takes place on a distant, colourful planet. The production is a direct continuation of Destruction Derby franchise.
The game’s main hero is a research robot named BUD. During galaxy exploration, the protagonist’s space ship – MOM – explodes and breaks into pieces and in the outcome of it, its enger crash-lands on some planet. However, BUD does not fall into despair and decides to rebuild his mode of transportation – he sets off on a journey with a purpose of finding each ship’s lost element.
Seen from the third-person perspective, the action consists in exploration of a huge world – a colourful, 3D planet surrounded by flying islands which hide loads of surprises. Apart from finding MOM’s every part, you need to collect samples of local fauna and flora and to reveal secrets hidden by particular locations. Similarly to Grow Home, in Grow Up you reach inaccessible places by using young shoots of a rapidly-growing huge plant. Climbing mechanics are also very important – they enable you to move each hand of the robot separately. BUD’s movement set is significantly extended – now he can roll up into a ball, roll, bounce off surfaces, and glide for a short moment.
Grow Up published on PC, XONE and PS4 is very similar to Grow Home – it utilises colourful and minimalistic visuals that feature simple, geometric shapes and intensive colours.
