A remastered version of the cult tactical RPG from Square Enix. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles refreshes the graphics, but it also introduces voiced dialogues and various quality of life improvements. It's also possible to run the original version of the game.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is a graphically refreshed, improved, and enriched with new content version of Final Fantasy Tactics, the iconic tactical RPG originally released in 1998. The game was developed and released by Square Enix, the company overseeing the brand. The development was supervised by the creators of the original, such as director Kazutoyo Maehiro, art director Hiroshi Minagawa, and screenwriter Yasumi Matsuno.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles brings a number of innovations that make it stand out from the original.
The remastered version can primarily boast about its new graphics. The creators have increased the resolution and adapted the whole to the panoramic proportions of the displays, as well as modernized individual elements of the visuals, including character sprites. Additionally, the interface was prepared from scratch.
This is not the end, as the remaster also brings fully voiced dialogues. It is worth mentioning that there are also completely new conversations that further expand the game's script.
A number of quality of life improvements have also been introduced here. We are talking about new difficulty levels, automatic game saving during battles, the ability to confirm turn order, a tactical view (allowing for reconnaissance of the battlefield from afar), as well as speeding up battles.
The icing on the cake is the ability to run the classic Final Fantasy Tactics in its original form.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles takes us to the titular fantasy kingdom inspired by the Middle Ages. Ivalice is struggling with the aftermath of a devastating war, interregnum, and the power struggle waged by Prince Goltana - the Black Lion, and Prince Largo - the White Lion.
We take on the role of a young member of the Beoulve family named Ramza, who finds himself in the middle of this chaos. The protagonist leads a team formed by companions such as Delita, Ovelia, and Alma.
In Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, the action is viewed in an isometric perspective.
The pillar of the gameplay consists of battles with opponents, fought in arenas covered with a grid of square fields. On the battlefield, we must properly position the team , as well as cleverly use their abilities, efficiently juggling their attacks and skills.
Battles are turn-based, and the order of moves by their participants is determined by the CT indicator. After it is filled (and consequently - 100 points were collected), a certain character can perform an attack or another move.
The game has implemented over 20 character classes, among which we will find a black mage, a geomancer (manipulating the environment), a summoner, a time mage, or a thief. Each of them is associated with a separate set of skills. They also have their individual strengths and weaknesses. As we progress, we develop Ramza and his companions, gradually increasing their combat potential.

Should we even call Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles a remaster? More like an expensive re-release.
