The sequel to a life simulator with RPG elements from 2012. In Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time we play as a heroine arriving on a fantasy island to settle down, learn its secrets and restore it to glory.
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is the second installment of the life simulator series with RPG elements, which originated in 2012. It was developed and published by Level-5.
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time takes place in a fantasy world - on a beautiful island long past its glory days. The game's main protagonist decides to settle down on the island and restore its former greatness.
The gameplay of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is shown from the top-down perspective. The game features an open, freely traversible world. While exploring the island we can meet its inhabitants and help them with their problems by completing various quests. The island hides many secrets, and since our heroine can travel through time, we must go back to the past to solve its mysteries.
That's not all, as we'll also need to choose a character class. While there's nothing stopping us from learning a peaceful profession, like a cook, we can also take up arms and learn magic to face danger head-on and battle monsters as a paladin or a sorceress. Progressing through the game lets us develop our character, face progressively greater challenges, as well as rebuild destroyed structures and construct entirely new ones, bringing the island back to greatness.
The visuals of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time are colorful, cartoonish, appealing and serene.

Game Ratings for Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Video Game.
NintendoWorldReport: 8 / 10 by Neal Ronaghan
This has the addictive gameplay loop of completing quests and furthering your lives in tandem. This has the seemingly endless parade of adorable touches filled with cute writing. In a way, even the ambitious scope that threatens to sometimes take down the whole thing is reminiscent of the original and the era that its developer Level-5 was going through with the success of Professor Layton and Yo-Kai Watch. If Fantasy Life i is representative of what they're going to be doing going forward with the likes of Professor Layton, I'm becoming more and more hopeful that they'll be able to reach their old heights. Fantasy Life i is enjoyable even with its occasional slips. I'm happy to be back juggling my multiple jobs of Angler, Paladin, Blacksmith, and Artist.

As one Steam review pithily, yet totally accurately put it: “It’s like if Runescape was fun.” Fantasy Live i has that big MMO feel to it, yet throughout the adventure never becomes exhausting. Whether the post-game stuff is for you or not, the journey there is such pure, wholesome, moreish escapism that it doesn’t matter. Level-5 took many years to get this out the door, but the wait has been more than worth it.
