We live in a great era of gaming. After years when games were locked to a specific platform of one company, now more often than ever we can enjoy multiplatformity of once exclusive titles. Of course, there are still productions that are tied to only one console, yet it’s a lot more common now that the exclusivity is only temporary. We have seen Stellar Blade, a very warmly received soulslike slasher, has been made available on PC. We were able to experience a demo version before the official launch, and it was said to be an exquisite port without any major problems. However, it seems that for some fans a number of issues slipped through the cracks and now they are unable to enjoy this production due to crashes. Is there anything that the developers from Shift Up have missed? Is there any solution for that? Let’s check what the options are.

Fix for crashes in Stellar Blade

EVE from Stellar Blade has gained many fans on PlayStation. Those of us who don’t sport Sony’s console were at disadvantage as we weren’t able to follow her adventures. Not anymore. Shift up has prepared a port that stands above other lazy conversions that do not consider optimization in their work. Despite an amazing mod that is already available? It’s not smooth sailing for everyone, though, as the game has tendency to crash for some. Don’t fret, as there are several things that you can attempt to solve this issue.

As it happens with such problems, PC is a device that is nearly unique for every because of multitudes of possible hardware and software combinations. For that reason, it is not feasible to narrow down the exact root cause of the crash, yet there are several things to try:

  1. First and the easiest operation to perform is updating your drivers. Make sure to pay special attention to GPU ones, especially if you use Nvidia graphics card. It is known that some of their recent drivers have had issues with stability.
  2. Another hardware related matter is having your BIOS updated to the latest version if you use 13th and 14th gen of Intel Us. Particularly if the game crashes with “Out of video memory” error. It is a known problem with those types of processors that can reveal itself in multiple productions.
  3. Next, in case you have fiddled with overclocking or undervolting any of your PC components, try to run Stellar Blade using the default, manufacturer values. It is possible that such operations can cause instability of your parts resulting in crashes.
  4. When it comes to software, the first thing to attempt is ing files integrity via Steam properties menu. It is a simple thing to do that can prove to be useful in troubleshooting.
  5. Have you played the demo of this game? If so, uninstall it and delete all files that might be left after this process. In the case of some games with demo versions, files which are left behind can cause some technical issues.
  6. If by any chance you have tried already installing modifications for this production, try removing them and launching the title once more. It is good practice to files integrity after the deletion of mods.
  7. It is not uncommon for games to crash due to various overlay programs. Before starting Stellar Blade, disable Steam overlay, MSI Afterburner, Steelseries GG and the like.
  8. Double check if your computer uses dedicated graphics card instead of the one integrated on the U. It can happen that sometimes a program will select an improper device to use while running.
  9. While Stellar Blade’s system requirements aren’t that high, if your machine meets them. According to the developers, you will need at least GTX 1060 or RX 580 GPU with i5-7600k or Ryzen 5 1600X processor. You can check full specs near the bottom of the game’s Steam page.

Hopefully one of the presented steps will let you play this amazing production. It receives sync your progress in the future. Have fun!
