Always running out of inventory space in Elden Ring Nightreign? We have some tips on what to keep and what to drop
Inventory management in Elden Ring Nightreign can be troublesome at first, so we have some tips for you on items worth your attention.

Managing inventory in Elden Ring: Nightreign is more demanding than in other FromSoftware games. Your inventory is much more limited, so you can carry fewer items at once, and the ticking clock and shrinking game area don't leave you much time to decide what to take and what to leave behind. So we have a few tips for you, thanks to which managing your inventory should become much easier. We'll explain things like what weapons to take, how to expand your inventory, and share some less obvious game mechanics that are worth knowing.
How to increase inventory capacity?
By default, each expedition will start with six slots for weapons (three for the right hand, three for the left hand), two slots for talismans, and four slots for single-use items. When it comes to weapons and talismans, you can't increase the number of slots. You will always have as many as you started with. However, you can increase the number of slots for disposable items by getting small pouches. Each pouch increases the number of item slots by one for the rest of the expedition. There are only two ways to get the pouch - you can buy it from any merchant during an expedition for 5,000 runes, or start an expedition with a relic that gives you a free pouch. You can only buy one pouch from the merchant, so you can carry a maximum of six items.
How to decide what to take with you?
During each expedition, you will come across a lot of weapons. , your goal isn't to create a universal build - your goal is to defeat the Nightlord on the third day of the expedition. Each of the Nightlords has a specific weakness, which will make the fight against them much easier. So, look for a weapon that matches your character's stats and, if possible, deals damage of the element that the boss is vulnerable to. If you find one like that, upgrade it for the rest of the expedition. However, this doesn't mean that the remaining inventory slots should remain empty. Every piece of equipment (except for your initial gear) also has a ive effect. These effects work even when you're not using a weapon (unless there's a red border around the skill – then it only works when you're using that weapon). So if you find a weapon with a good ive effect, take it - even if you don't intend to use it, it will buff your character just by sitting in your inventory.
When it comes to disposable items, the rarer they are, the better. Purple blacksmith stones will allow you to upgrade your blue weapon to purple, and stone keys will open big prisons where bosses offering huge rewards are hiding. It's also worth stocking up on blue items - starlight shards replenish your mana, and boiled crab reduces the damage you take. Among common items, pickled fowl foot is extremely useful. Using the golden foot temporarily increases the amount of runes obtained (use them just before defeating bosses), and the silver foot increases the amount of dropped items (use them just before opening chests, especially decorative chests in castles and forts).
You will very often come across boluses - common items that heal you from a specific status effect. It's usually not worth taking them because they only work on one status effect, and there's no guarantee you'll come across it. In Nightreign, the boluses work differently than in Elden Ring. Besides getting rid of the negative effects of the status, they also make you more resistant to this effect for the rest of the expedition. So it's worth eating them right away, just after finding them. By holding the interaction button and pressing the up arrow on the D-pad, you can use them immediately, without the need to place them in your inventory.
